Lara specializes in using orthopedic massage approaches to help resolve soft tissue pain and dysfunction. In addition, her goals include helping her clients improve in their overall biomechanics to allow them to live better and feel better in their bodies. Lara encourages her clients to add regular massage to their physical therapy routine for efficient and effective results.
I believe in the transformational and healing effects of physical therapy and massage therapy. The combination of these two health care systems, from a caring and quality team of professionals such as Renew, can create positive and lasting changes for people.
After receiving her bachelors degree in Literature from UCSD, Lara followed her interest in integrative health by completing over 1000 hours in massage therapy. She has been working full time in the field since 2001, working in both southern and northern California, and has been teaching and writing curriculum at three different bodywork and acupuncture schools since 2006.
Lara has a passion for her profession and continues to study the human body extensively. She enjoys being active and frequently practices yoga, rock climbing, and the occasional moderate run. In addition, she enjoys a good coffee, cookies, the arts, and laughing (preferably all at once).
